ISLAMABAD: An Islamabad High Court (IHC) bench has accepted an appeal filed by 54 contractual employees of the SME Bank for the regularisation of their services.
Justice Noorul Haq Qadri of the IHC ratified the authenticity of the special cabinet committee formed by the previous government to make regular the services of daily wager and contractual employees by declaring that it was in accordance with the government’s policy. During the hearing, the counsel for the applicants, Umair Baloch, referred to a past verdict of incumbent Chief Justice Saqib Nisar, wherein the court had regularised the services of employees of the Telephone Industries of Pakistan (TIP) on the recommendation of the cabinet committee headed by Syed Khurshid Shah.
