The German technology company Rohde and Schwarz which was locally present in the country since 2005, participates in the International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS 2018) which began on November 27 and commenced till November 30.
Founded more than 80 years ago, the independent company, which was headquartered in Munich, Germany, had an extensive sales and service network with locations in more than 70 countries. The company was famous for its quality, precision and innovation in the fields of wireless communications for the last 80 years. Rohde & Schwarz developed the local resources in the country and established local service centers and engineering support.
The company also contributed in showcasing its software defined radios for airborne (R&S SDAR) and landbased applications (R&S SDTR, R&S SDHR) enabling reliable and secure communications in national and interoperable missions. Additionally, it also displayed the innovative IP based communications systems R&S VCS 4G for air traffic control and the integrated communications system R&S NAVICS for naval applications.
Another area of interest for the customers at the Rohde & Schwarz booth was some of the world’s fastest Digital Oscilloscopes and their high end Signal and Spectrum Analyzer FSW. The company attracted several senior officials from the defense and private sectors as well as several foreign delegates from Middle East, Africa and Europe.
Rohde & Schwarz also received welcoming remarks from Punjab Governor Chaudhry Ghulam Sarwar who admired the contributions made by Rohde & Schwarz in Pakistan while visiting the Rohde & Schwarz pavilion after the inauguration of 10th IDEAS 2018 in Karachi Expo Center.
He took keen interest in the displayed equipment at the Rohde & Schwarz pavilion, especially the live demonstration of the voice communication system VCS 4G and R&S ADRONIS. He also appreciated the product and solutions offered by the company that strengthened the defense of the country. The dignitary was accompanied by others senior civil and defense officials.
Overall, the Rohde & Schwarz booth was one of the most visited booths in the exhibition due to its presence in defense, government and educational sector.
