Security forces have killed a ‘wanted terrorist’ in district Dera Ismail Khan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The wanted terrorist, Hakim, had held six civilians hostage for ‘ulterior motives’, the ISPR said, adding that he was armed with automatic weapons and grenades. “All hostages have been rescued by the security forces,” the ISPR said, adding that four security forces personnel received injuries during the operation. The security forces conducted the intelligence-based operation in Daraban area of Dera Ismail Khan under the ongoing Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad.
Reports said the killed terrorist belonged to the outlawed Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
