The 4th convocation of Shalamar Medical & Dental College was held in the college’s premises on Saturday.
A total of 97 graduates were conferred with degrees by the University of Health Sciences (UHS) Vice Chancellor (VC) Professor Javed Akram. Chief guest Dr Sania Nishtar gave away the awards and medals to the high achievers.
Dr Mirza Aun Muhammad Baig was named the best graduate of the semester and was awarded a gold medal, shields and certificates by the chief guest.
UHS VC Professor Javed Akram also addressed the convocation.
BOT Chairman Shahid Hussain said that the Shalamar Institute of Health Sciences has been providing quality healthcare services to Lahore as well as its outskirts and has always been a leading institute to prepare and bring about competent doctors, allied health professionals and nursing staff to the country.
Shalamar Medical & Dental College Principal Professor M Zahid Bashir congratulated the graduates.
Board of Trustees members Syed Babar Ali, Chaudhry Umar Saeed, Ibrar A Mumtaz, Shahbazuddin Chaudhry, M Munir Chaudhry, Mian Altaf M Salim, Shalamar Institute of Health Sciences Chief Executive Officer Brigadier (r) Anis Ahmed, Shalamar Hospital Chief Operating Officer Brigadier (r) Muhammad Naseem Ijaz, daculty, doctors and parents of the students also attended the convocation.
