Yasir Shah about to break 82-year-old World Record

Author: Ahsan Chaddi

Yasir Shah is going through the prime time of his career. The right arm leg spinner is ranked number 10 in the ICC top 10 test bowlers and his numbers speak for him. He has managed to get 195 test match wickets in just 32 matches. In the last test match which he played, he equaled the record of 10 wickets in one day which was earlier made by the Indian leg spinner Anil Kumble. He also got 14 wickets in a test match and equaled the record of most wickets by a Pakistani bowler in a single test match which was earlier made by the great Imran Khan.

The leg spinner is about to make a world record of fastest to reach 200 test match wickets. Australian leg spinner Clarrie Grimmett is the record holder of fastest 200 test match wickets in just 36 test matches followed by the Indian off spinner Ravichandran Ashwin who achieved this milestone in 37 matches.

Clarrie Grimmett made this record before the second world war in 1936 and now Yasir Shah needs 5 more wickets in 3 test matches to be on the top of this list. All eyes will be on the third test match between Pakistan and New Zealand. We hope that Yasir breaks the record and creates a new history.
