ISLAMABAD: Following the highest scandal of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), corruption watchdog National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has started an inquiry in Park Enclave Housing Project and ordered CDA to submit the necessary documents regarding the housing project to the NAB investigation assistant director.
A letter issued from NAB to the CDA Chairman Afzal Latif added that the bureau is conducting complaint verification pertaining to Park Enclave Housing Society scam under the provision of the National Accountability Ordinance 1999.
The letter further added that certified true copies of the following documents are to be submitted directly to NAB Investigation Assistant Director Ahmad Khizar.
It is pertinent to mention that CDA back in 2011 started a residential scheme in the capital with the name of Park Enclave in an area where it doesn’t have land possession. Following the CDA Housing Scheme, the private housing societies in the adjacent area started their business due to which the mushroom growth of housing societies takes place. CDA announced price for one kanal plot at rate of Rs 12 million while housing societies offer same plot in half price.
The civic agency gets billion of rupees from the plot owners but in response they didn’t allot land to the people.
CDA in exaggerated claims repeatedly says that 92 percent work has been completed on the Park Enclave Housing Project but the ground realities are contrary to the claims as no land is possessed by the civic agency.
To divert the attention of the Park Enclave victims and media, CDA started Phase 1 and 2 of the Park Enclave Housing Project without any ground work considering the previous people who paid billions of rupees to CDA are still waiting for allotment of plots.
NAB on the appeals of the victims regarding the scandal of Park Enclave Housing Society filed an inquiry.
According to a CDA official, wishing anonymity informed that after the issuance of a letter from NAB, CDA chairman called an emergency meeting and dictated the relevant department to provide the demanded verified documents to NAB. c
Park Enclave Housing Societies Director Ejaz Ahmad Sheikh remained unavailable for comment.
