KARACHI: Pakistan cricket selectors, headed by former Test captain Inzamamul Haq, on Monday directed in-form batsman Abid Ali to report for the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy final. Ali – who is currently in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with Pakistan A – is in tremendous form with the bat and just recently scored a breathtaking 144 in a one-day game against England Lions. In all, the Lahore-born right-hander scored over 800 runs with the help of three centuries in eight matches against England Lions, Australia A and New Zealand A. The decision was made on the request of Habib Bank Limited (HBL) – Ali’s departmental team. The final of the QeA Trophy will be played between HBL and Sui Northern Gas (SNGPL) from December 4 in Karachi.
