Pompeo urges Pakistan to sanction terrorists responsible for Mumbai attacks

WASHINGTON: US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Monday said that Pakistan should follow UN Security Council obligations to implement sanctions against the terrorists who were involved in the Mumbai attacks in 2008.

On the 10th anniversary of  Mumbai attacks, Pompeo said that those who planned the attacks have still not been convicted yet for their involvement.

He further said, “We call upon all countries, particularly Pakistan, to uphold their UN Security council obligations to implement sanctions against the terrorists responsible for this atrocity, including Lashkar-e-Tayyiba and its affiliates”.

On the other hand, America is also offering a new reward for up to $5 million for information leading to the arrest or conviction of nay individual who was involved in planning or facilitating the 2008 attacks in Mumbai.
