KARACHI: Privatisation Commission Chairman Muhammad Zubair Umar is likely to be designated as the next governor of Sindh.

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leadership made the decision after the sad demise of former governor Saeeduz Zaman Siddiqui, who passed away after brief illness in Karachi on January 11. Zubair is likely to take oath as the 32nd governor of Sindh in the next few days, according to a source privy to the situation.

Miftah Ismail, Mohammad Zubair, Qutbuddin and Mushahidullah were among those being considered for the slot. A PM’s House spokesperson confirmed that the decision in this regard would be made within a couple of days.
