Police arrest 8,104 criminals in one week; recover drugs, weapons and stolen items

City Division police has arrested 8,104 accused persons involved in heinous crimes and recovered valuables, drugs, illegal weapons as well as booked 500 accused for violation of one wheeling law, rental act and sound system act during the last 10 months.

Superintendent Police City division Naveed Irshad said that special teams have been constituted for the arrest of hardcore criminals involved in heinous crimes. The SP directed all officers to submit comprehensive report of daily crackdown against anti social elements of city division.

SP City added that police has arrested 8,104 accused involved in street crimes, decoity, robbery, drug peddling, gambling and other crimes.

He said that police recovered 988 pistols, 23 rifles, five Kalashnikovs, 45 guns, two carbines, four daggers and more than 8,000 bullets from their procession.

The police has recovered 42,845 bottles of liquor, more than 9 kilogramme heroin, 351kg hashish and more than 8kg opium from drug peddlers. On secret information, Rs 5,100,000 have been recovered from gamblers. More than 500 accused have been booked for violation of one wheeling, rental act and sound system act, the SP added. He said that the police continued crackdown against anti social elements across the division.
