Three-day Millennial Olympiad kicks off

ISLAMABAD: The three-day mega festival Millennial Olympiad 2017 kicked off in Rawalpindi with fun and frolic at The Millennium University College Bahria Town on Friday. The event started with several competitions and 500 plus participants from over 15 institutions around twin cities taking part in 12 exciting competitions including cricket, football, badminton, snooker, battle of the bands, battle of the fandoms, minute to win it, talent show, console gaming and table tennis. The social events are beginning with a concert by JOSH band, followed by Mohenjo Daro to Rajhastan Theme Night as well the signature Millennial fashion show this weekend. The Olympiad is a platform in which participating students from across twin cities will get an opportunity to prove their aptitude and creativity within various domains of curricular and extracurricular activities. The opening ceremony was presided over by Ambassador of Portugal Joao Sabido Costa, Ambassador of Republic of Union of Myanmar Win Naing and Chaudhry Faisal Mushtaq. The ambassadors said the aim of the olympiad was to inspire youth to help shape the world based on justice, solidarity, liberty, dignity, harmony and prosperity for all. They appreciated the initiative of the students and encouraged the youth of Pakistan to become the agents of change through engagement in initiatives on national and international forums. Faisal Mushtaq encouraged school management to continue their support for the personal and professional development of leaders of tomorrow.
