ISLAMABAD: State Minister CADD, Dr, Tariq Chaudhry, is reluctant to approve a summary for appointment of more than one hundred persons in Government Services Hospital known as Poly Clinic in the federal capital.

The summary for the approval to the ministry of CADD was sent four months back but the minister is yet to approve the summary as he is busy in defending the Sharif family corruption scam in the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

A well placed sourced told this scribe on Friday that the hospital administration sent this summary to the CADD ministry for the appointment of more than 100 medical officers in the Poly Clinic hospital where the shortage of doctors is creating a lot of problems for the patients.

The summary for the ministry’s approval is now pending at the table of Dr Fazal Chaudhry but he is busy in the apex court in defending the Sharif family corruption scam, the source confirmed.

The source also confided that a similar summary for the appointment of nurses was also sent to the CADD ministry for getting its approval for the fresh appointments but the summary is yet to be approved due to the other engagement of the CADD ministry officials.

The hospital is witnessing a surge of patients each day because it is the only hospital which caters to the medical needs of the government servants but shortage of doctors and nurses is causing huge problems to the hospital administration and the patients as well.

To overcome this pressing problem Poly Clinic was interested in appointing new doctors and nurses as it was the need of the hour but Dr, Tariq who also hailed from the capital cositituency did not approve the summary which is pending before him for the last many months.

The hospital administration also drew the attention of the minister many times by writing him various notices with the prayer that the summary should be approved to overcome the shortage of doctors.

It is also very interesting that the Establishment Division had also approved the creation to new 100 seats in the hospital but the formal approval from theCADD ministry has not been granting due to the non sympathetic attitude of the minister concerned, the source further told on condition of her not exposing his identity as he was not allowed to speak on this issue.

While talking to Daily Times Dr Shahid Hanif confirmed the fact that the summary for the appointment of 100 doctors was sent to the CADD ministry but the ministry is yet to approve the summary as the administration is anxiously waiting for the response.
