ISLAMABAD: After getting into hot water for his U-turn remarks, Prime Minister Imran Khan reaffirmed his statement by saying that doing a U-turn to reach one’s objective is the hallmark of great leadership just as lying to save ill-gotten wealth is the hallmark of crooks.
The primer took to famous social blogging site Twitter and said “Doing a U-turn to reach one’s objective is the hallmark of great leadership, just as lying to save ill-gotten wealth is the hallmark of crooks.”
Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday said that a leader who does not take “U-turns” according to the situation is not a real leader.
During an interaction with journalists at the Prime Minister House, the premier said, “A leader who does not take U-turns as per the requirements of the situation is not a real leader.”
Imran Khan, who has been criticized over his apparent “U-turns” quoted “Adolf Hitler and Napoleon suffered huge defeats and caused losses as they did not take U-turns.”
The premiere also cited an example from his cricket days when he led Pakistan’s national team said, “We used to make a strategy and then step out into the field but if the opponent team formed a strategy against ours then we would have to change it.”
PM Imran further said, “Nawaz Sharif did not take a U-turn and lied in court.”
Speaking about his recent trip to China, the prime minister said, “Concrete results of my visit are beginning to show.”
