A book on literary contribution of renowned poet and writer Amjad Islam Amjad was launched here on Tuesday at a ceremony held at Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU).

Those who spoke at the event held to launch the 544-page book named ‘Amjad Fahmi’ included eminent poet Prof Anwar Masood and Canada-based Pakistani writer Dr Syed Taqi Abedi.

Amjad Islam Amjad, who was also present on the occasion, hoped that the book will serve as a precious document for doing academic research work on Urdu literature.

The speakers paid tributes to Amjad Islam Amjad for his visionary poems, dramas and newspaper columns. The book, they noted, narrates various aspects of his writing and poetry that will remain a source of inspiration for the new generation to have a better life. The nation, they said, should be proud of their national heroes, who, through their positive and constructive thoughts and writings, continue to enlighten the young generation to follow the right path.
