The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA), Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (WSB) and Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) Hyderabad have been directed by ‘Scrutinise Service Structure Committee’ constituted by Water Commission to submit personnel files and service relevant documents of employees from Basic Pay Scale 17-20 today (Wednesday)
The Scrutinise Service Structure Committee comprises Local Government Department Secretary and Committee Chairperson Khalid Hyder Shah, Sindh Irrigation Department Additional Secretary Ghulam Ali Brahmani and
Services General Administration and Coordination Department (SGA&CD) Additional Secretary Shahmir Khan.
The committee will hold its meeting today to scrutinise the matter in order to ascertain malpractices in appointments, promotions.
Syed Mohsin Nazar, Director Finance WASA, Shoaib Tughlag, Deputy Managing Director, KWSB and SM Madani, Director Administration SBCA were earlier directed to submit personal files and service record of officers.
Officials of the three departments, wishing anonymity, told Daily Times that there were enormous anomalies in appointing, promotions of employees.
It was also reported that several appointments were made in violation of rules, officials said.
In the first phase, the committee will scrutinise cases of officers of BPS-17 and above in relation to their initial appointment and subsequent promotions to ascertain the real position.
The Hyderabad Development Authority had already handed over office record, files of officer BPS-17 and above working in WASA to the WASA Managing Director.
The heads of KWSB, WASA and SBCA would provide necessary information.
The committee has sought name of employees with designation, joining date in SBCA, KWSB and WASA prior to getting promotion to BPS-17 and above.
