First coal-freight train departs for Sahiwal

KARACHI: The first coal-freight train of Pakistan Railways departed from Karachi to coal terminal of Sahiwal Coal-Fired Power Plant on Sunday.

An official of Pakistan Railways said that the newly inducted locomotives, which were imported from US, last week are leading the freight train.The train that departed Karachi on Sunday would reach Sahiwal Coal-Fired Power Plant on Monday morning.The Sahiwal Coal-Fired Power Plant will generate 1320 megawatts and it has also been connected to the national grid station.
