The Airport Security Force (ASF) foiled a bid to smuggle 2.4 kilogram narcotics worth millions of rupees in international market and arrested a drugs trafficker at Lahore Airport on Sunday.

The ASF sources said that during search of baggage of a passenger leaving for Doha through a private airline at Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore, 2.4 kilogram narcotics including one kilogram hashish and 1.4 kilogram heroin concealed in secret cavities was recovered.

The ASF confiscated the recovered drugs worth millions of rupees in the international market, off-loaded and arrested the accused hailing from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

The detainee and recovered drugs were later handed over to Anti Narcotic Force (ANF) which after registering a case against him started an investigation.
