A senior KP police officer who went missing in Islamabad a few days ago is in the custody of security agencies, Daily Times has learnt.

Credible sources said Tahir Khan is under custody for interrogation regarding some militant outfits.

They said that the police departments of Islamabad and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had been informed about the police officer’s detention. They added that security agencies suspected that the officer had ties to terrorist outfits operational in KPK and Balochistan.

The family of the police officer was called in Islamabad and his meeting was also arranged with his family where he told his family that he is safe and fine. He told his family that he is wanted for investigation but did not share any reasons or details for which he was being grilled.

Tahir Khan was posted as SP Rural in Peshawar. On October 27, he reached his house in G-10 sector of Islamabad on leave from Peshawar.

The police report says Khan left for a walk on the next day and did not return home.

Later police high ups approached security and intelligence agencies to trace his whereabouts, and were informed that he was in their custody for investigation. The police then immediately informed both KP and federal government about the development and abandoned the search for his recovery.
