ISLAMABAD: FATA won the National Inter-Division Basketball Championship after defeating Peshawar in a closely fought final with the score-line 78-77 points at PSB Coaching Center in Peshawar on Sunday. Member Provincial Assembly Yasin Khalil was the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony. Pakistan Basketball Federation secretary general Khalid Bashir, KP Basketball Association president Muhammad Faqir Awan, secretary general Din Muhammad, FATA Basketball Association president Riaz Shinwari, officials, players and large number of spectators were also present. Earlier, Peshawar defeated Islamabad by another thrilling semi-final with the score-line 68-65. FATA recorded victory against Karachi by 67-57 points. Teams from Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu, Kohat, Mardan, FATA, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Hyderabad, Mirpur Khas, Karachi, Peshawar and Quetta took part in the championship.
