KARACHI: Despite clear orders of the apex court that no official of non-cadre be posted on cadre post, an associate professor having a background of technical education has been holding the lucrative post of Director Administration at the Sindh Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (Stevta), it is learnt.
Through a notification STEVTA/Admn(S-II)/PF/065, the Sindh government repatriated all the officials who were working on cadre posts.
“In compliance to Honourable Supreme Court of Pakistan in Criminal Original Petition No 89/11 and Civil Review Petition No 193/2013 and Service Appeal No 757/2015, following officers are hereby transferred and directed to report at Sindh Tevta Headquarters Karachi with immediate effect and until further orders”, a Sindh government’s letter reads out.
While in violation of the apex court’s orders, the chief secretary appointed Karim Bux Siddiqui, an associate professor (BS-19) as Director Administration (BS-20) who is enjoying perks and privileges.
Karim Bux Siddiqui did B.A from the University of Sindh in 1982-1984 and completed Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) in Mechanical Technology in 1973-1977 from Government Polytechnic College, Wahdat Colony, Hyderabad. Later, he joined the government of Sindh as technical teacher in early eighties.
Karim Bux Sidduqi got postings in Directorate of Labour and Manpower from 1992 to 1996 instead of teaching students. Then he was made Managing Director of the Stevta in March, 2006 and remained there till September 2008. Later, he was made Executive District Officer (F&P), Jamshoro district from June, 2008 to June, 2009. Then he was made Secretary Benazir Bhutto Shaheed – Human Resource Research Development from February, 2014 to November, 2015.
He also remained Chief Executive Officer and Secretary Board, Benazir Bhutto Shaheed, Human Resource Research and Development Board for several years since June, 2009. He was posted as Provincial Coordinator to Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Youth Development Program (BBSYDP) in June 2009 and remained there for more than five years.
Moreover, the Sindh government posted him as Chairman Sindh Trade Testing Board (BS-19) in November and he was directed to report to his parent department. However, within a few days he got his new posting as Director Administration BS-20.
When contacted, Karim Bux Siddiqui told Daily Times that his bosses were not happy with him and insisted to continue as Chairman Sindh Trade Testing Board before the new posting.
