The moon for Rabi-ul-Awwal has not been sighted and Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH) will be celebrated on November 10, according to Ruet-e-Hilal committee.

Reportedly, Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee chairman Mufti Muneebur Rehman chaired a meeting in the capital on Thursday evening to sight the moon. He announced after the meeting that the moon was not sighted and the 1st of Rabi-ul-Awwal will now fall on November 10.

Scholars from all schools of thought as well as astronomical experts were present in the meeting. The committee receives several testimonies of the new moon being sighted from different parts of the country. Different buildings and shrines in the country have already been decorated with lights and government as well as religious organisations would be organizing a number of programs to highlight the character and merciful acts of Holy Prophet (PBUH) with respect, religious zeal and devotion. Stringent security measures have also been adopted to avoid any untoward situation and to ensure safe passage of the sacred day.
