ISLAMABAD: Three men involved in the murder of an Overseas Pakistani Foundation (OPF) College employee surrendered before police on Monday.

On the other hand, the mother of a fourth accused submitted a written application to Islamabad SSP, stating that her son has been falsely nominated in the case.

The SSP has formed a committee to probe the case.

According to police sources, Hayat was gunned down on Service Road near Khanna Dak High School at midnight. He was working as naib qasid at the Overseas Pakistani Foundation (OPF) College Islamabad.

On the application of his brother Javed alias Jaidi police registered FIR No 23/2017 against Asif, Mehtab, Aamir and Kamran alias Kaka under PPC’s Article 302/34.

Sources said the deceased and the accused were drinking at the house of Zarar alias Nomi when they had a quarrel, but people intervened to make peace.

After some time the deceased went to Asif’s house where they had a quarrel. Asif and Hayat’s brother Jaidi opened fire on each other during which a bullet hit Hayat and he died on the spot.

Mother of Kamran alias Kaka said, “My son was not present at the time of the incident. Two years back, my son Raja Nadim, an employee of the Interior Ministry, was killed by some men near Sanam Chowk.” She said police had arrested Shafiq alias Papa, Muhammad Hayat and his brother Javed.

After the incident Shafiq, who was beaten by Nadim’s relatives, was admitted to PIMS in a critical condition, but he fled from the hospital and left the country. Hayat and his brother were released from jail recently on bail.

Kamran’s mother has submitted stamp papers of at least 50 witnesses to prove her son’s innocence.
