The Supreme Court on Saturday sought a report from all the provincial chief secretaries regarding allocation of huge government residences to public field officers in the country.
Taking notice over media reports that officers of different departments are residing in huge government
Residences located in posh areas of the cities worth billions of rupees, Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar granted ten days time to chief secretaries to submit report in the matter.
Chief Justice Nisar had taken notice in response to media reports, which pointed out that several officers of various government departments had been residing in huge government residences worth billions of rupees. It had also been revealed in the reports that substantial amount of funds was also being allocated for annual maintenance of such residences.
