Where art thou?

Author: Ali Jan Maqsood

Sometimes when I flashed-back to my past,

There appears thy face,

The blessing of God,

Thou was my angel

A cool shadow in the hot days,

A warm fire in the winter,

Thou was my relief in pain,

My teardrop in harsh time,

The smile in felicity,

A shed when homeless,

My reflection everywhere,

Thou elaborated,

My life in short,

When thou was all around me,

But no longer, my angel,

For, thou chose separation,

May thy compulsion,

Went in unknown location,

Beyond my awareness,

Yet by now thy brother asks for thou,

To the graveyard, the road, thy ally,

And the dwelling we met,

With no answer back, I return,

The unsatisfactory silence,

And no answer of my sole question,

Where thou went?
