‘KP Governance’ project launched to keep eye on real estate sector

PESHAWAR: The provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) wanted to widen the scope of “Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governance” by projecting the need to enhance the efficiency of building new housing societies in the province.

The “Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governance” facilitates different schemes in the province through different channels to keep a close check and balance on various institutions and provincial workprojects.

This would also serve as an opportunity for the investors of real estate business for investment in the provincial housing sector.

This was said by the KP Adviser to the Chief Minister for Housing, DrAmjid Ali, in a talk with Daily Times after presiding over a meeting regarding “KP Governance” for facilitating projectsfor implementation of housing schemes in KP on Monday at the Civil Secretariat in Peshawar.

The meeting was attended by the head of the “KP Governance” Javed and Director Town Planning Saifur Rehman Usmani, along with officers of the concerned authorities.

The meeting was told about the steps taken to implement the good deedsof the “KP Governance” by various projects in the province.

The Adviser was informed by the head of the “KP Governance” Committee about the position of different housing schemes and said that the KP Governance scheme facilitates the people to get low cost houses and theauthorities to find a suitable location and support from the provincial government.

Saifur Rehman Usmani said the KP Governance Project would appoint experts from different fields in order to make the scheme workefficiently and purposively to provide standard houses on low costs and on the guaranty of the provincial government.

The minister was informed that soon all the housing authoritiesworking in the province would be brought under one banner and proper arrangements would also be made to coordinate while settling the issues of banking, legal affairs and engineering.

The minister appreciated the presentation given to him on the ongoing projects to bring the homeless people to the government constructedhomes and remove the difficulties faced by the local people for the achievements of plots.

He ordered to eliminate the doubts of the people regarding the landallotments and instalments also stressed upon the need to complete the projects timely.

He said the project needed to produce affordable residential schemes andalso cooperate with private housing centres for efficientlyestablishing the Housing Authority Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In a talk with Daily Times the owner of a plot in the Provincial Housing Scheme, Umer Sani, from Peshawar said the process was smooth for the attainment of plots and the scheme was trustworthy.

“The government coordinated to keep a check and balance while no fraud scam was found till now in the allotments of plots” he added.

He lost his original documents for claiming the plot upon which it was inquired from the office and the response was very good due to which Iwas able to get a duplicate document within a week which was impressive,” he added.
