LAHORE: Hunain Zia, a 17-year-old student of The City School, has made six world records by achieving 42A*/A/a grades in O and A levels of the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE).

Hunain started at The City School in Bahawalpur campus aged 2 and now, just before his 17th birthday, he has made six world records and he is still making them! He is not the only student to have sat lots of CIE subjects in one go, but no one has ever sat 30 in one session.

To achieve that he had to do 19 hours of constant, consecutive exams in one day, another record of amazing intellectual stamina. As a top student, he broke another record by being the only person to achieve 20 A*/A/a in one exam session. Hunain takes exams at every opportunity and so nailed another record by achieving the highest number ever of A*/A/a in a year – an amazing total.

His resilience and determination shone through again as he broke the world record by sitting 70 papers in 24 days. He also holds the record of sitting 56 exams at CIE O and A levels, GCSE, IGCS. He is chasing a further record to be the world record holder of 100 A*/A to ensure he is the world champion, as, unbelievably, he is only – at present, the second highest achiever of A*/A/a with his total of 42!

His distinction will make him the holder of seven world records by quite a margin. He finished a further stint of exams on January 25, 2017, as part of his quest. On January 27, Hunain inaugurated the brand new auditorium at Ravi, The City School’s flagship campus in Lahore.

“We are immensely proud of Hunain’s achievements. He is an inspiration to all our students. He is the personification of all that The City School’s mission aims to do,” said IrumYousuf, the regional director. The City School was established in Karachi in 1978 and has developed into one of the largest leading private school networks in the world with over 60,000 students and 185 branches.
