KARACHI: The Counter Terrorism-Department Sindh has claimed on Thursday to have unearthed a terror plot by arresting five members of banned religious organization and have recovered more then twenty bombs and other explosive material.
The arrested terrorists were involved in many cases of target killing including a deadly attack on SHO Shahlatif Town Inspector Amanullah Marwat.
SSP Munir Ahmad Shaikh during a press conference in the office of CDT-Operations 1 told that on information tip team of CDT-Operation raided a flung area of metropolis and rounded five most wanted terrorists who were planning for launching attacks in the city. The terrorists which have been nabbed include Zulfiqar, Imran, Waqas, Aziz and Azam who confessed to be involved in many cases of target killing and kidnapping for ransom, he further added.
In the initial interrogation the suspects disclosed to have huge explosives cache in a dumping point and team of CTD has recovered over 20 Awan bombs from their pointation. According to SSP Munir Ahmad Shaikh the arrested accused were affiliated with a banned ogenisation and they were involved in an attack that was carried upon SHO Amanullah Marwat but luckily he survived.
