Just after the release of the song, people started trolling the makers and things got even worst when the Minister of Human Rights, Dr Shireen Mazari got into an ugly social media argument with Momina. Along with her, many other well-known celebrities shared their negative thoughts about the song.
With all the hate and criticism coming from everywhere, there are few people who stood up for the young singers and took a stance for them. well-known fashion designer and talk show host , Hassan Sheheryar, showed a soft corner for the coke studio singers.
He tweeted: “Just heard #cokestudioKoKokorina and it’s not nearly as bad as I’m hearing people say it is. It’s young and @ahadrazamir and @MominaMustehsan sound and look like they are having fun singing it. It’s some happiness on TV. I’m all for people wanting to try and give their best.”
She further added in another Instagram story, “Three days and counting, and it’s still all about ‘Ko Ko Korina.’ Love it or hate it, your call but you don’t have to go to town insulting someone’s efforts”.
After all these statements, Momina and Ahad might have heaved a sigh of relief but still we can conclude by saying that you can love the song or hate it, but you just can’t ignore this song by Coke Studio.
