Do you remember?

Author: Noor Jehan Ahmad

I know, I told you,

I’d keep moving,

And I do, I really do,

Night and day,

I push and push,

Night and day I move,

But sometimes,

Sometimes,

I picture you in the sand,

As I lay on top of it,

Like a layer of tears all over you,

Sometimes,

I find your voice through the dancing,

And the bristling of the palm trees,

Oh how they sing,

Like you did, for me,

Sometimes,

I look for you in the night sky,

I see a star and remember,

How we light up our own together,

Now, alone, sometimes it feels like I don’t have the power,

Wait, do you remember?
