Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry on Tuesday hit back at Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) supremo Asif Ali Zardari after the former president suggested uniting opposition parties against the government.
Chaudhry, who is accompanying Prime Minister Imran Khan in Saudi Arabia, tweeted that Zardari should prefer to meet lawyers instead of politicians. “He will realise the true worth of my advice in not even weeks, but days, the information minister remarked.
“Governments are not removed via resolutions, but through votes,” he further said. “Zardari has notes (money), but no votes. He has lost the votes in pursuit of money,” the minister added.
It may be noted that Zardari had said on Monday that he was up for uniting the opposition parties against the government because the government’s actions were ‘undemocratic’.
Separately, Chaudhry said that the incumbent government would extend all possible support for further strengthening Sino-Pak media cooperative partnership. “The government attaches importance to President Xi Jinping’s initiative and China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and wishes to get them implemented through media’s cooperation,” he said in a message on signing of an agreement between Independent News Pakistan (INP) and China Radio International (CRI). The visiting ten-member delegation was led by Wen Ge , Deputy Director General of State Council Information office of China and representative of major media house, Xinhua news agency, China Radio International (CRI), People’s Daily and China Daily.
He expressed his pleasure that a bilateral news exchange agreement was signed between CRI and INP during the three-day visit of the delegation that concluded on Tuesday.KK
