Controlling crime in Pakistan

Author: Daily Times

Sir: Every society has its peculiar crimes and forms. It is quite unfortunate that currently the incidents of crime have been increasing in Pakistan, with each passing day. The crimes such as murder, rape, robbery, burglary, arson, theft, motor vehicle theft, drug-trafficking, money-laundering, extortion, black-marketing, political violence, terrorism, abduction, etc., have become the order of the day in our country.

It seems that our society has been criminalised to such an extent that hardly any day goes by without any crime being committed in any city/part of the country.

There are various reasons of crime in our country such as poverty, unemployment, illiteracy, greed, family feuds, property claims within family members, easy availability of weapons, failure of the law enforcement agencies in controlling crime, corruption, etc. However, we can control crime only through making our nation educated and economically stable.
