Advisor to Sindh Chief Minister (CM) on Information Murtaza Wahab slammed Punjab Information Minister Fayyaz Chohan’s statement regarding former President Asif Ali Zardari and said that Fayyaz Chohan was playing the role of ‘mercenary’.
Minister Wahab said that Asif Ali Zardari had never been deterred by false and frivolous cases. He added that Chohan should not be worried for Asif Ali Zardari and instead, he should focus on the fate of his own party chief. Wahab said that the tsunami had ruined the very fabric of the society in a short span of time. “Prime Minister (PM) Niazi did not visit the United Nations (UN) out of fear,” he said. He further said that a reign of terror had been unleashed against the opposition in anticipation of massive protests against the government.
Lambasting Punjab Information Minister Fayaz Chohan, Barrister Wahab said that some of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) ministers had made it their daily habit to talk about Asif Ali Zardari and Chohan’s utterances proved that he was following this syndrome.
“It is unfortunate that a person who was involved in land grabbing in Bani Gala is the prime minister of our country and all those involved in land grabbing in Sindh, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) have joined hands with him,” he asserted. He said that flawed and clumsy policies of Imran Khan had ruined downtrodden people of the country. “Salaries have not gone up but electricity and gas bills have,” he said.
In another statement, Murtaza Wahab said that media had the responsibility to provide access to information. While talking to a delegation of CSS Information Group who met him at his office, the advisor said that the media should focus on the positive aspects of the government and not spread negativity. “Today, the media is promoting sensational news but it should be playing its due role by making the public aware about facts and figures,” he said.
CM advisor briefed the visiting CSS Officers about ongoing and completed development projects of the Sindh government. He said that Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation was a state-of-the-art facility. He said that National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) was performing as a mega health initiative that provided quality healthcare to Sindh’s public.
The delegation appreciated the efforts of the Sindh government and thanked it for its hospitality.
