Three-day festival on technology concludes

SWABI: A three-day festival titled “All Pakistan TechFest” concluded at the Ghulam Ishaq Khan (GIK) Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology here on Wednesday. Academia, representatives of industry and students from all over the country attended the event, organised by the GIK Institute’s Society of Mechanical Engineering of Pakistan (SMEP).

The organisers said the gathering was aimed at providing a platform to the faculty, industry and students to interact with one another and frame engineering courses according to the requirements of the country’s needs. Waleed Iqbal, grandson of Pakistan’s national poet Dr Allama Iqbal said that the students should concentrate on creative activities. Saad Saleem, a motivational speaker from Karachi and owner of various software houses, said that students should stick to the principle of hard work and learning. Dr SM Ahmad, advisor of the society, said that continuous efforts of SMEP members culminated in the event. SMEP President Hasnain Raza and Ahmad Sachal also spoke on the occasion. At the concluding ceremony, Waleed Iqbal gave away shields to the participants who showed good performance in the TechFest.
