CM’s aide warns against attempts to undo 18th Amendment

Adviser to Sindh Chief Minister for Information, Law and Anti-corrption Barrister Murtaza Wahab on Monday said that 1973 constitution had been restored to its original shape through 18th Amendment and issuing statements against it was tantamount to attacking the provincial autonomy.

Responding to a statement of Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Wawda, the provincial adviser said that unconstitutional amendments in 1973 constitution during Zia and Musharraf’s regimes were removed through 18th Amendment.

He said that doors were also closed for giving legal protection to marshal law in the country through this important amendment. He said that 18th amendment was foundation for federation of Pakistan and it would bring dangerous consequences for federation of Pakistan if it is revoked.
