Poet Irfan Sadiq launches fifth book at RAC

A poetry book titled Lon Lon Wich Udeeq by Irfan Sadiq was launched under the auspices of literary organisation Harf-o-Awaz in collaboration with the Rawalpindi Arts Council on Sunday.

The ceremony was presided over by senior poet and intellectual Professor Dr Ehsan Akbar and Ali Akbar Abbas was the chief guest.

The event was hosted by Sadia Kamal. Harf-o-Awaz Patron-in-Chief Dr Nisar Turabi in his welcome address congratulated Irfan Sadiq on his new book and termed it as “good addition in Punjabi literature”.

Addressing the occasion, Professor Dr Ehsan Akbar said Lon Lon Wich Udeeq fulfilled all requirements of modern poetry. Akbar Abbas said that Sadiq has a prominent place among contemporary poets. Hassan Abbas Raza, Salim Akhtar, Dr Sher Ali, Dr Fauzia Sehr, Farkhanda Shamim, Dr Shuja Agha and Pervaiz Malik also highlighted important features of the book and threw light on Sadiq’s personality, who is a Lahore based author of four books in Urdu and one book in Punjab.
