Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo became the first footballer in history to score 400 goals in Europe’s top 5 leagues, but his sole strike could not help his team bag the three points.
Juventus were held to a 1-1 draw against Genoa at home. Ronaldo scored a early-goal in minute 18 of the first half to put his team up-front. The Portuguese had also struck the cross-bar with a thumping header minutes earlier.
Genoa, however, came back strong in the second half to score the equaliser on minute 67 courtesy Daniela Bessa.
The headlines were made by Ronaldo nonetheless. The 33-year-old, who has played for four European clubs including Sporting, Manchester United, Real Madrid and now Juventus, completed 400 league goals.
It took the Portuguese a total of 523 games to achieve the feat. Club wise, Ronaldo scored 84 goals in 196 games for Sporting and Manchester United, a whooping 311 goals in 292 games for Real Madrid, and 5 in 9 games (on-going) for the Serie A champions.
