ISLAMABAD: After taking notice of the reports of delay in Iraqi visas for thousands of Pakistani pilgrims, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Friday asked the Iraqi government to immediately issues visas to those applicants who had already submitted applications along with the fee and all documents.
“I had a meeting with Iraqi ambassador to Pakistan on Friday where the issue was raised,” Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi told the media. Thousands of Pakistani citizens, who want to go to Iraq for Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS), are stuck up at various cities across Pakistan due to delay in the timely issuance of visas. Iraqi authorities have not given any reason to Pakistani government for the extraordinary delay in the issuance of visas.
