Police is reluctant to take serious action against some members of their own department, as despite the passage of one month, the Superintendent of Police has failed to finalise the inquiry against the police official allegedly involved in taking bribe from a youth.

According to details, a news report regarding the blackmailing and bribe taking from the youth by some policemen of Sadiqabad Police Station identified as Mohsin and Wajid was published a month ago, to which the City Police Officer took quick action. He directed SP Rawal Division to conduct inquiry into the matter and furnish a report within a week, sources said.

Despite the passage of a month, SP Rawal Divison Asim Jasra failed to conclude the inquiry. While appearing before the SP, the accused officials were accompanied by their officers, a sub inspector and others who were briefing them.

During the hearing, they have admitted that drugs were recovered from the youth and they handed them over to the duty officer – Assistant Sub Inspector Qaiser. The SP summoned ASI Qaiser for the hearing.

The journalist who reported the story also appeared in the hearing of the inquiry and provided the video recording of the incident as proof to the SP.
