According to details, the initiative has remained indiscriminate towards the violators across the city; the receipts of e-challan, however, permeated throughout the province as 595 e-challans were reportedly paid via Bank of Punjab branches operating in cities such as Multan, Layyah, Lodhran, Sahiwal and Gujranwala.
PSCA is about to derive solutions to facilitate general public wherein the latter would be able to check the e-challan status of their vehicles online through PSCA’s website by giving in their computerised national identity cards and vehicle registration numbers.
The PSCA has also forwarded the record of more than 8,000 vehicles to the Excise & Taxation Department to correct their ownership and address records. To counter the lapse of non-payment on part of the violators, it is under consideration to ban entry of motor cyclists, who do not pay e-challan fines, on certain roads. Similarly, the defaulting vehicle owners will be blacklisted and action will be taken immediately as soon as the black listed vehicle is spotted through the cams and ground teams.
