KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has issued orders to put Dr Asim Hussain’s name on the Exit Control List (ECL).

A two member bench of SHC comprising  Justice Farooq Shah and Justice K. K. Agha took up for hearing the bail application filed by Dr Asim in  two corruption references of 479 billion  rupees.

The court while ordering to file the original passport of Dr Asim has issued directives to the Interior Ministry for not issuing any new or duplicate passport to Dr Asim.

Earlier difference of opinion emerged between the two judges over the matter of granting  bail to Dr Asim. Justice Farooq Shah who was heading the 2-member bench of the SHC dismissed the bail plea remarking the requisite medical facilities are being provided to Dr Asim, therefore, bail can not be granted to him. The matter was then sent to Chief Justice SHC to appoint a referee judge.

Justice K K Agha had accepted the bail plea on surety bonds of rupees 2.5 million each.
