A police constable died on Sunday and two other officers sustained critical injuries in a deadly road accident near Pano Aqil, a tehsil of Sukkur District.

According to Pano Aqil police sources, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Abdullah Bhutto, along with Head Constable Qabil Chachar and Constable Ilmuddin Jatoi were travelling to Sukkur when their car’s driver lost control over it due to a broken tie-rod and rammed into a roadside on National Highway near Pano Aqil grid station.

Resultantly, Chachar died on the spot while ASI Bhutto and Constable Jatoi received severe injuries.

Meanwhile, police shifted the deceased officer’s body and injured officers to the Pano Aqil Hospital for medical attention.

After autopsy, the officer’s body was handed over to his heirs, whereas injured officers were referred to the Civil Hospital in Sukkur.

Police sources claimed that the possible cause of accident was over-speeding.
