Free mediciens for diabetic patients

KARACHI: “More than 600 doctors and specialists will see and provide free-medicines to diabetics patients” .This was announced during a press conference by the president of the Primary Care Diabetes Association (PCDA) Dr.Sayed Mansoor Ali at the Karachi Press Club on Friday.

Talking about the symposium that has held on February 5, 2017 at Expo Center Karachi on “Diabetes: Prevention and Care” he said that the program will provide essential information and assistance to hundreds of victims of diabetes and others.

He said that we do not have enough doctors to see the huge number of patients related to diabetes and other diseases; which has compelled us to launch such a program to assist and to make the people aware who cannot afford to go to the doctors.

He said that the main objective of the program is to update and train the doctors and physicians to treat the diabetes related patients and to spread awareness regarding the issue.

He said that diabetes not only increases sugar in the body but it affects all our body from toe to hair.” It is not a disease but it is a condition that must be controlled at its primary level”, he emphasized.

The vice President of Primary Care Diabetes Association (PCDA), Dr. Fareeduddin said that people cannot diagnose it at its initial stage; they even do not bother to educated themselves about it; due to this attitude that they have to suffer a lot.

He said that those who come to know that they have been victimized by such diseases in spite of knowing they have the disease, adopt the policy of lingering and procrastinating instead of using insulin as a treatment.

General Secretary Dr. Riasat Ali Khan said that the government is not serious towards such a serious issue of the people who are really in pitiful condition. “We are pouring in efforts to call more than six hundred family physicians to uproot such diseases”, he said.

He said that government must also take some disciplinary measures to control this menace before it reaches to crisis proportion.

Dr. Asma Riasat, Dr.Salma Azam, Dr. Najam Mehmoodi, Dr.Veerumal Lohano and others were also present at the occasion.
