Zainab’s murderer Imran Ali to be hanged till death on Oct 17

LAHORE: An anti Terrorism Court (ATC) on Friday has issued death warrants of Imran Ali, convicted in rape and urder case of seven-years-old Zainab and eight other teenage girls.

According to the court orders the convict Imran Ali will be hanged to the death on October 17 at Central Jail in Lahore. Imran Ali has been awarded 20 death sentence and a fine of Rs 30 million in the case.

Earlier, on January 2017, ATC handed down death penalty to Imran Ali on four counts, a fine of Rs 1 million has also been slapped on the convict alongside Rs 1 million blood money to the parents in rape and murder case of Zainab.

Zainab, a seven-years-old girl was went missing on January 4, found dead in a trash heap on January 9 in Kasur district.

After two weeks, on January 23, authorities claimed to have arrested Imran Ali, a serial killer involved in such crime cases, through DNA test.

According to the police Imran’s DNA also matched to the samples taken from seven other teenage girls, who were raped and murdered earlier in Kasur.

Imran Ali reportedly confessed to assaulting seven-years-old Zainab and eight other minor girls at an under construction site I Kasur.

On June 22, Supreme Court Lahore Registry dismissed the appeal of convict Imran Ali against the death sentence verdict of ATC.
