Mountain Dew launches biggest gaming championship in Pakistan

The biggest gaming competition in Pakistan was just announced by Mountain Dew with the winning prize of Rs one million. In an event on October 3rd, Mountain Dew officially announced their newest campaign for adventure seekers in Pakistan, the Dew Gamers Arena. This platform is being partnered by the international gaming giant ESL, that will be responsible for fair and credible execution of the competition.

Gaming in Pakistan has been limited to small gaming zones, or inconsistent competitions in universities and colleges, but with this competition the gaming scene in Pakistan will reach new heights. Salman Butt, marketing director of PepsiCo, discussed the potential that gaming has in Pakistan and is adamant to provide platforms like these to youth. He is confident that Pakistani gaming enthusiasts will nurture through campaigns like these and will be ready to compete in the international gaming competitions in the future.

The Dew Gamers Arena will select 32 teams per game per city from all around Pakistan for the competition which will compete against each other in two most played games globally that are Counter Strike: GO and DOTA 2. The teams will be divided in four categories, Lahore, Islamabad, Karachi and rest of Pakistan. One winner from each categories will compete with other winners on December 8th in Lahore in the grand finale. The winning team will be awarded with the huge cash prize of Rs one million.

Mountain Dew has been on a roll with campaigns for the youngsters in Pakistan. Over a couple of years, Mountain Dew has introduced two of the biggest campaigns for adventure seekers in the country. Firstly, the massive concert by Ministry of Sound which brought London-based DJs to Lahore and changed the face of EDM in the country. Then it was only last year when we saw professional stunt bikers from across the globe showcasing their skills in Karachi’s Moin Khan Stadium for the crowd. Mountain Dew being the drink for young adventure seekers has always been on point and this time with Dew Gamers Arena they haven’t disappointed a single bit.

The launch event of Dew Gamers Arena was a celebrity packed event. Actors and models like Ahsan Khan, Mira Sethi, Feroze Khan, Imran Abbas, AlizehGabol, Cybil Chaudhry and many more celebrities were present at the massive launch event. The celebrities shared their gaming experiences with the audiences as well. The event then concluded with an adrenaline gushing performance by Call-The band, which set the stage right for the Mountain Dew enthusiasts.

At the event, representatives from ESL were also present to explain the competition mechanism and answer questions regarding the championship. The partnership with ESL brings the credibility and professional expertise to the competition. Apart from that, Mountain Dew also released a TVC for Dew Gamers Arena, which showed the international superstar Hrithik Roshan in action, endorsing the gaming championship in Pakistan.

With the cash prize of one million for the grabs, partnership with the international giant ESL and continued legacy of Mountain Dew, there is no reason left for the gamers in Pakistan to not sign up for this championship and prove their gaming talent to the world. The registrations for the competition is open, so sign up and let the battles begin.
