UFC President Dana White on Wednesday said UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov will not be stripped of his title after UFC 229 post-fight brawl that broke out after the Eagle jumped outside the octagon to fight Conor McGregor’s team-mate Dillon Danis.

Nurmagomedov beat two-division champion Conor McGregor to defend his Lightweight belt and improve his undefeated record to 27-0. The Eagle produced one of his best performances against one of the best fighters in the world, but that was not the talk of the town.

What happened afterwards potentially stained Nurmagomedov‘s huge win at UFC 229. After making McGregor submit, Khabib turned his attention towards the Irishman’s corner, had a heated argument with Danis and jumped outside the cage to fight him.

The security personnel in and around the octagon restored ordered and both Khabib and McGregor were escorted to their dressing rooms. Khabib apologised for his actions but reiterated that he was provoked by McGregor’s verbal jabs against his religion, father and country.

Dana White, who on Sunday said he did not know what was going to happen with Khabib has finally come up with a few answers. The UFC chief said Khabib will not be stripped of his title. However, White was still not sure what the Nevada State Athletic Commission was going to do.

It is possible that Khabib will face a 4-6 months suspension and fine of around $0.25 million. McGregor too will face suspension for being part of the brawl and attacking Nurmagomedov’s brother, Abubakar.

The next few days will be interesting. Do you think a 4-6 month suspension is okay for Khabib?
