The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Tuesday, conducted an anti encroachment operation along with Building Control and removed illegal constructions from the parking and pathways of surrounding areas of F-8, Markaz.
The anti encroachment operation has been conducted with the assistance of District Administration, Islamabad and Islamabad Capital Territory Police, by using heavy machinery to remove illegal constructions and clear the footpaths, passages and parking area for the general public. Before conducting the anti encroachments operation, notices were served to illegal encroachers to remove these encroachments voluntarily.
During the operation, a guard room was established in a container at the southern corner and up-down barriers as well as iron grills were erected around the public parking area of eastern, northern and southern side. A security post at the northern corner as well as advertising boards installed at public parking areas were removed from Ali Medical Centre.
Apart from these, numerous planters placed at western footpaths and advertising boards installed on footpaths by the Islamabad Diagnostic Centre were also removed. Barbed wires erected adjacent to Roots Private School System building were removed and foot paths were opened for access to general public.
On this occasion, parking area of Mobilink Head Office was cleared by removing/demolishing the up down barriers, along with two security guard cabins at southern entrance point, barbed wires/fences along planters erected at eastern, southern and northern sides, entry point at northern side, revolving gates at northern entry point, security clearance point setup and portable washroom setup were also removed.
A shed in the parking area and an iron grill in front of the parking area of Oil & Gas Development Company Limited building were also removed. Similarly, a shed erected by photo plus shop on public pathway was removed.
An illegal kitchen setup established by Dainty Foods was also removed. Many encroached setups voluntarily removed their establishments after hearing about the crackdown.
