LWMC aims to convert UC 185 and 200 into model union councils

Another important step taken by Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) for effective execution of Clean & Green Campaign is the initiative to convert Union Council 185 and 200 into model UC.

In this context, LWMC Managing Director Farrukh Butt, LWMC Operations General Manager Sohail Malik and LWMC Communications Head Jamil Khawar distributed new waste containers, hand carts and uniforms among the workers and the respective staff.

On the occasion, Housing & Works Minister Tariq Bashir and political and social Worker Rubina Shaheen also took part in the activity.

LWMC managing director briefed that the company is working for proper execution of the Clean & Green Campaign and will keep on working at the same pace. Distribution of new waste containers, hand carts and uniform in UC 185 and 200 is to facilitate citizens and prompt lifting of waste. Further, he added that availability of workers in the field, redressal of public complaints and proper timely lifting of waste is our priority.

LWMC Operations GM Sohail Malik said that the organisation is working day and night to provide excellent cleanliness services, but at the same time, the people of Lahore also shoulder the important responsibility to dispose of waste properly in the provided bins.

A special awareness activity in context with the Clean & Green Campaign was also conducted at Main Market. The activity comprised of an establishment of an awareness camp, waste bags and awareness literature distribution among shopkeepers and public. Talking on the occasion, Jamil Khawar said that conducting such activities was much needed.
