KARACHI: Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Chairperson Marvi Memon on Saturday said that the door-to-door survey for the National Socio-Economic Registry (NSER) update in Thatta and Sujawal districts would start from Feb 15, in which surveyors would record data on tablets. Addressing the participants of a ceremony to launch the pilot phase of the survey, Marvi said, “Today we have fulfilled the promise that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif made to people of Thatta when he last came here in 2013 by launching door-to-door survey in Thatta and Sujawal for NSER update. The new survey is technology-based and is being done on tablets to ensure transparency and efficiency. She said that teams would visit each and every household. “All the five tehsils and 34 union councils of Thatta, and 4 tehsils and 29 union councils of Sujawal would be covered on their turn,” she said, adding that 100 percent coverage of households would be ensured during the survey. “The whole process of the door-to-door survey would be monitored by the BISP and the Operation Review Firm.” She appreciated the youth, especially women of Thatta, for coming forward and participating in the new survey.
