A suspected thief was killed and his accomplice sustained critical bullet wounds on late Sunday while allegedly stealing buffaloes in the outskirts of Khanpur city.

Reportedly, Khanpur Police Station House Officer (SHO) Muzamil Soomro told the media that thieves identified as Rahib Ali Jatoi and Irshad Ali Jatoi were trying to steal buffaloes from Ashique Ali Boho’s place.

He claimed that Boho resorted to aerial firing for saving his buffaloes when the thieves were shot by firing of their abettors who were waiting outside of his house.

Meanwhile, police officers rushed to the spot and shifted the deceased’s body and the injured thieve to the Tehsil Headquarter Hospital Khanpur for autopsy and medical attention, respectively.

Later, doctors recommended shifting Irshad Ali Jatoi to the DHQ Hospital in Shikarpur for further treatment after providing him first aid.

The SHO said that Rahid Ali Jatoi was wanted to the Rustam police in several heinous crimes, and his elder brother Anwar Ali Jatoi was also killed during an exchange of fire a few years ago.

Police have started further investigation into the incident.

Man killed, fourpeople injured while fighting over land dispute in Jacobabad

A villager was shot dead and four other people received severe bullet shots on Monday in a fresh clash between rival tribesmen over the ownership claim to a piece of agricultural land in Darya Khan Bulledi village in the precinct of the Mouladad police station in Jacobabad.

Reportedly, Writing Head Constable Manzoor Ali Soomro said that a violent brawl erupted between several members of Bulledi and Khoso community over a land dispute.

Consequently, 40-year-old Ghulam Ali was killed on the spot while Haji Ameer Bux, Nizamuddin, Zahoor and Abdul Rasheed sustained critical bullet wounds in an exchange of fire.

Meanwhile, police rushed to the spot to prevent further deterioration and loss of life, and subsequently shifted the deceased’s body and injured persons to the DHQ Hospital in Jacobabad for medical attention. Police have launched a manhunt for suspects involved in the fight.
