Reportedly, KYF representatives, Senator Taj Muhammad Afridi, Landi Kotal Hospital Medical Superintendent (MS) Dr Khalid Javed, administrative officials, tribal elders, members of civil society and a large number of students were present on the occasion.
Participants held banners inscribed with informative slogans for creating awareness among the general public for adopting cleanliness measures.
Meanwhile, campaign leaders highlighted significance of cleanliness in the society and urged participants to utilise all available resources for maintaining environmental health, personal hygiene, and proper sanitation system and contribute their efforts to control pollution.
They further mentioned one of the sayings of Holy Prophet (PBUH) in which he termed cleanliness as half of faith. They outlined that throwing garbage in the streets, roads or parks has become a common practice in our society, and in public places dustbins are seldom found, and even if dustbins are installed, people do not use them properly.
KYF officials said that in the first phase of the cleanliness drive, heaps of garbage and piles of trash would be removed from Sultan Khel and Neiki Khel areas followed by other localities.
Tribesmen appreciated the drive and assured their assistance to KYF officials.
